Overview:
Under direct supervision, determine approach to material planning objectives demonstrating an understanding and application of principles and concepts of best practices-MRP. Responsible for ensuring materials are available and ready for production use when needed to support contract requirements. Provide interdepartmental coordination among other functional disciplines and coordinate the shop floor flow and delivery of finished product.
This is an entry-level exempt position.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
35% - Develop and maintain detailed material plans from program requirements and MBOM to determine time-phased material acquisition and production floor schedule needs. Monitor functional progress against established schedules utilizing established MRP methodologies.
35% - Coordinate and maintain material acquisition and fabrication status with other functional departments. Coordinate the flow of work between or within departments to expedite production or as a basis for materials acquisition.
10% - Execute priorities for incoming inspection to allow materials to be released for use in production.
10% - Report on material availability shortages to functional departments and management.
5% - Coordinate end item delivery with other departments.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
5% - Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
This is an entry-level exempt position typically requiring a Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to develop material requirement plans, write material requisitions, initiate orders and coordinate materials/hardware requirements with inter-organizational functions, and schedule and expedite receipt of materials to support manufacturing requirements. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with the following preferred job skills:
Experience with an automated MRP system (Oracle preferred). Understanding of the integration of MBOMs, MRP, and shop floor management (WIP).
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
