Overview:

A strong Attitude Reduction/Determination, Dynamics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analysis, Aerodynamics, and Control background is highly desired.

- Computer programming ability, preferably in the “C/C++” programming language, and knowledge of Matlab is desired.

- Must have excellent analytic ability, as well as data management and organizational skills.

- Must particularly enjoy mathematics, problem solving, and analytic work on computers.

Job Description:

Will perform post-flight attitude data reduction and analysis of sounding rocket flights, including studies of vehicle trajectory, attitude determination, and vehicle performance. Duties will include tracking of mission requirements for attitude or other data products; documenting sensor characteristics during payload integration; analysis of sensor calibration data; post-flight processing and analysis of attitude sensor data; documenting and archiving attitude data; and providing additional post-flight data analysis support to the customer as needed.

- Will perform pre and post flight trajectory, stability, dynamics, and dispersion analyses for sounding rocket flights.

- Organizational and computer skills needed to create, implement, document, and maintain attitude and trajectory analysis procedures, software, and systems.

- Understanding of sensor operation and capabilities needed to assess sensor performance on past missions and recommend changes to enhance future performance.

- Knowledge of Inertial Navigation, GPS, and/or Control Systems Analysis a plus.

Qualifications:

BS Two years of related experience is required.

A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related degree in engineering or physical sciences is required.
