High precision milling turning and grinding (manual)
Key Purpose
of Job
Manufacturing mechanical components for spacecraft systems and sub-systems.
Key Tasks
Working within the Manufacturing Group and liaising closely with the design office you will have the
opportunity to play a part in delivering high quality products to tight deadlines for flight assembly
and integration.

Manufacturing high precision parts, on a variety of manual machines.
·
Bespoke instrument assembly to exacting requirements, dowelling and lapping where
necessary.
·
Liaise with the project managers and the relevant engineering teams, ensuring deadlines and
specification achieved.
·
Attend engineering peer reviews to ensure design for manufacture methodology observed.
·
Attend weekly team meeting.
·
Other activities, such as painting & inspecting co-workers parts as delegated.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications
·
City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering minimum.
·
Good educational back ground
Experience
·
Ideally from a tool room or similar background.
·
Ability to interpret technical drawings and documents.
·
Some experience of machined components in a high precision, high value and low volume
environment, ideally aerospace.
Knowledge &
Skills
·
Flexible and enthusiastic with a can-do approach.
·
Problem solver.
·
High level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
·
Reasonable level of competency in MS Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word &
Excel.
·
Good communication skills.
