Overview:

Perform analyses, design, testing and/or evaluation of one or more complex components of analytical systems requiring ingenuity and creativity. Develop new techniques of optimizing the efficiency of these systems through automation or improved man-machine interactive software modules. Evaluate commercially available system components for processing speed, quality and cost, interfacing with the engineers and designers of these systems as required. Interface with product generation personnel to resolve problems with production system operations. Devise new and original solutions to problems, work with engineers. Provide technical guidance to staff.

Job Description:

Position will have a lead role in Orbital's engineering team developing and launching ballistic missile targets for the Missile Defense Agency. The candidate will actively participate in general systems engineering activities, specifically in the areas of system integration, requirements management, and requirements verification. The candidate will interface with external customers and internal associates in engineering and program management. This candidate will need to be capable of leading/coordinating a group activity, have strong communication and presentation skills, and be competent utilizing standard Office software products. Experience with DOORS Requirements Management software is a plus. The candidate will work with cross-discipline team members and must have excellent communication skills, presentation experience and the ability to work with a diverse community of engineers and managers to achieve the goals of the systems team. Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge and experience in the design, analysis, integration and/or test of complex engineering systems is highly desirable. Similarly, experience and /or familiarity with Aerospace Industry Systems Engineering practices and processes is a plus. This includes specification writing, requirements creation/management, requirements verification activities, and trade study analysis. Experience with aerospace flight hardware development, design, test and integration, and engineering analysis is a plus. Candidate must have excellent attention to detail.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering plus minimum of seven(7) years of related experience. Candidate must be a US Citizen and must be able to pass a background check. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
