Background:
RapidEye AG is a provider of geospatial management information and solutions, customized
to the needs of clients in agriculture, forestry, power & communication, environmental and
governmental markets. As its main data source, RapidEye owns and operates a
constellation of five identical high-resolution Earth observation satellites capable of returning
to any point on Earth every day. Combining the knowledge and skills of our professional staff
with the unique features of our satellite constellation and ground processing facility, we are
the only provider who can supply the most up-to-date, customized information to clients
around the world.
As a fast-growing service and customer-oriented company, RapidEye is seeking highly
qualified, proactive and reliable team players to work from our headquarters in Brandenburg
an der Havel, Germany. RapidEye has an immediate opening for a Product Manager, Data
to join the Marketing Team.
The Product Manager, Data will be responsible for positioning RapidEye in selected markets.
He/she will interface with internal and external partners and customers, handling the entire
range of data products. As part of our international Marketing Team, the Product Manager,
Data will mainly identify and establish new product lines of RapidEye "Standard Products" -
internally and on the international market.
Responsibilities:
•
Identify and implement strategies to develop, promote and sell new RapidEye
Standard Products
•
Identify additional scenarios and use cases for our products
•
Develop strong relationships with commercial Earth Observation/Remote Sensing
organizations
•
Manage the day-to-day business with different internal departments and specific
partners
•
Initiate and execute high-impact marketing activities to generate leads and improve
RapidEye's position in the market
•
Analyze and monitor product performance and sales success for RapidEye Standard
Products
•
Analyze similar products in the industry and monitor market prices
•
Define new markets and identify partnering opportunities within our core
competencies
•
Provide market knowledge to all relevant internal teams
Requirements:
•
University degree in geography, remote sensing specialist or similar education
•
5+ years of experience in a company in a marketing and/or sales position or as a
product manager
•
3+ years marketing experience focusing on positioning, targeting, segmentation,
partnering and promotion
•
Proven ability to lead with multiple, ongoing and aggressive timelines and to anchor
product management in the organization
•
Ability to strategically plan, develop and implement measures and execute strategies
•
Significant technical and commercial work experience
•
Ability to lead independently and effectively communicate her/his plans, ideas and
concepts to employees and customers
•
Right balance between technical and business skills
