Background:
RapidEye AG is a provider of geospatial management information and solutions,
customized to the needs of clients in the Agriculture, Forestry, Power &
Communication, Environmental and Governmental markets. As its main data source
RapidEye will operate a constellation of five identical high resolution earth
observation satellites capable of imaging every point on earth every day. Combining
the knowledge and skills of our highly skilled professional staff with the unique
features of our satellite constellation and ground processing facility we are the only
provider who can supply the most up-to-date, highly customized information to
customers around the world.
As a fast growing service and customer oriented company, RapidEye is seeking a
highly qualified, proactive and reliable team player working from our headquarters in
Brandenburg an der Havel, Germany, to fill in the position of a Systems Engineer for
our IT-Department.
Responsibilities:
•
Support planning and implementation of new systems and services
•
Operate and maintain a complex Unix/Windows infrastructure
•
Analyze and resolve incidents, derive and implement preventive actions
•
Support and advice end users, support internal project teams
Requirements:
•
University degree - Computer Science or similar
•
2-3 years of experience in supporting complex Unix/Windows infrastructures
•
Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux, TCP/IP networks and server/storage
hardware, Windows knowledge a plus
•
Fluent in written and spoken English (company language)
•
Some German helpful for living in or around Brandenburg
